I asked a question in my last podcast asking if John Teller and Piney Winston were the two that started the club together. Indeed they were, as I have found during my internet research.
"The club was formed by John Teller and Piermont "Piney" Winston, two Vietnam War veterans, in 1967 in Charming, California. Six of the original nine members were war veterans."
I swear that I had seen Kurt post something on Facebook this week about the original 9 but when I went back to find it, it wasn't there. I wanted to post that info here, because it listed the names of all 9. If I can find it again, I will post it, in the meantime, if you find it, please leave it as a comment to this post. Thanks everyone!

Here's what Kurt Sutter posted on March 29th:
ReplyDeletecorrection. they were actually called "first 9", not the original 9. there's a patch that clay and piney wear that indicates this.
The first members of the first charter of Sons of Anarchy. Most of the original 9 members are dead. Only three are living, Clay, Piney, and McGee (president of the Belfast charter). The first 9, in order of joining ... See Morewere: John "JT" Teller. Piney Winston (founders) Wally Grazer, Thomas "Uncle Tom" Whitney, Chico Villenueva, Louis Maynard, Clay Morrow, McGee, Otto "L'il Killer" Moran. (Not to confused with Otto "Big Otto" Delaney who joined much later and was given his name so he wouldn't be confused with "L'ill Killer" Otto)
Thank you much!
